There have been many homeless pugs who have come through our doors and many have found families with lots of love and attention to give. Here you will find stories of some of those rescues.

Thelma and Louise: two VERY bonded pug girls with a hard life past, are now living a pampered life in Southern California. The have claimed their mom and dad's bed as their own and are enjoying getting and giving lotes of love!

Chewey and Zoe and their new Family: Amanda and Chad Snoddy adopted not one, but two of the pug mixes which PROS rescued, Zoe the pug terrier mix and Chewey the pug and lab mix. The "kids" are having a great time at their new home and showing lots of love to each other as well as to their new Mom and Dad. zoeandchewy.jpg (8064 bytes)
Gigi is a fawn female. Sheis now is living on 5 acres with an orchard and large flower garden. She has assumed her place on the pillow along side of her mistress, sleeping like a little person and loving life) gigipro2.jpg (30955 bytes)
Joxer was rescued within the last hour of his life, literally, from the pound. He had been dumped off in a drop box with his Pekingnese buddy and both were scheduled to be put to death due to Joxer's bad eye and the Peke's protectiveness over his puggy friend. PROS bailed them both out  and a Peke rescue group took "Red" after his trip to the Vet. Red is now in a new home. Joxer now has a very happy home and is living with his pal Rocko. joxer.jpg (14576 bytes)
DJ is a little pug mix. After his owner died  he was kept in a garage for more than 4 months until he was rescued by PROS. He is very sweet and a little shy, but he loves to be held and petted (obviously this trait reflects the pug part of him!). dj.jpg (17149 bytes)
Angie was rescued from the pound. Angie is very loving and affectionate, and although blind, can find a lap in no time. And when she is in the arms of someone who loves her, her tail wags so hard it goes straight. Angel (33959 bytes)
Lucy is approximately 2 years old, light fawn in color, about 15 lbs. with definite pug features. She is just as cute as can be. She has a sweet personality and has adapted well to her new family. lucy2.jpg (37254 bytes)
Brock is an eight year old fawn boy who was very overweight when he was rescued from the pound only hours before he was scheduled to be put down, just two weeks before his Christmas birthday. He was given lots of love and attention and was brought back to good health, but still has a problem with his back legs. Brock was taken to his new home in Virginia. He flew first class on United Airlines to Washington D.C. where he was met by his new mommy, Marguerite Matter.   He is now enjoying the good life with his new pug and mastiff siblings. Though he is old and partially disabled, he shows that life is still worth living and there is always more love to give. Brock has since passed away from cancer after living a happy life with his adopted mom for over a year. He gave and received alot of love in his time in his new home. We will all miss him. Brock
Bailey was only 11 lbs. and had three types of worms when he was found wandering the streets in November of 1995. Someone had seen him dumped out of a car that drove away, leaving the little guy who had a very bad limp that caused him to fall over at times to fend for himself. Marianne was alerted to his plight, and took him off the streets, treated his worms and had him neutered. She also took him to several vets who confirmed that he was not in pain, but probably had a congenital spinal injury. On March 1, 1996, he went to his new home, with now PROS member Roxane Fritz, and has been treated like a king ever since. His name, Bailey, means "the one who is in charge," and as you can see, he is a healthy and happy 17 lbs. and likes to dress up for formal occasions Bailey
Newman was found thin, starving, and half-bald, the result of an undetermined skin condition, at a shopping center in Sacramento. After two months of loving attention and plenty of good food, Newman made a complete recovery and has since been placed with a fabulous family in San Francisco. Favorite activities include accompanying his 14-year-old human on long walks around the city and lounging with a Nylabone. Newman
Dallas is a one year old pug mix with a lot of energy! He has now found a wonderful new home. He was adopted by Laurie Buckley, who thought that he would make a great agility dog. Now renamed Puck, he is well on his way to becoming an agility star! He is also being spoiled rotten by his new family who loves him dearly. Puck
